A Legacy Preserved: The National Cold War Center

In the heart of Blytheville, Arkansas, a remarkable project is taking shape. The National Cold War Center, currently under development, is poised to become the nation’s official museum dedicated to the Cold War. While the full center is still in progress, visitors can now explore the BAFB Exhibition, which opened on November 20, 2020. Housed on the grounds of the former Blytheville/Eaker Air Force Base, the exhibition tells the powerful story of the base's evolution—from a World War II B-25 pilot training school to a pivotal Strategic Air Command alert base until its closure in 1992.
